Throughout the ages sumac has been used for many purposes. Such as...spices, beverage flavoring, tanning, medicines and pipe stems. But today I have no thoughts of using sumac for any of these reasons. Rather my goal is to be mindful of the richness of the sumac's colors on Eighty Acres, knowing the brilliant colors will soon turn brown and fall to the earth.
