The coyote's skull, was almost completely buried on the Eighty Acres forest floor. As I carefully uncovered the skull I wondered what stories this coyote ghost had to tell me and how it came to make Eighty Acres its final resting place. While cleaning the skull I was surprised at its beauty. The intricate texture above the jaw line, the ivory like incisors and the now vacant nose and eye cavities. What did those eyes see? What scents did that nose detect? I returned the coyote's skull to her forest grave and now the coyote ghost is forever free to run the hills of Eighty Acres.
