Body and Soul

I can't remember why, when or even if we planted the chive plant. But like an old friend it returns to Eighty Acres each spring, bringing its deep green grass-like leaves and purple flowers. When eaten chives have a mild onion-like flavor and according to nutritionist, are a good source of iron, calcium, Vitamins A and B. As a supplement the list of benefits is most impressive. ie. bone development, aids digestion, good skin, healthy hair, improved sleep, and overall support of your immune system. Wow! Amazing.. But let me add two more benefits. Each spring the beauty of this plant brings pleasure to my eyes and a smile to my face. Thank you Earth Mother for caring for both my body and soul.
