Have you ever noticed the oak trees are aways the last to lose their leaves? Maybe it is because oak trees are shy about undressing and are reluctant to discard their brown garments, But this day I was thankful for their modesty. After a day of heavy gray clouds on Eighty Acres, the setting sun emerged and turned the oak covered hillside into an array of gold, yellow and orange colors. As I walked home, I thanked the Earth Mother for her gift of the bashful and timid oak trees.
