Hummingbirds

Writer's picture: Bruce SieboldBruce Siebold

Sounding like giant buzzing bumblebees, each spring hummingbirds announce their arrival on Eighty Acres. They begin their long migration journey from southern Mexico and northern Panama. With wings beating at 60-80 times per second they tirelessly zip and dart across the land, visiting the feeders and flowers several times each day. Hummingbirds are often referred to as a symbol of happiness, and urge us to love life and share our souls with friends. Such an enormous gift, from such a very small bird.
